Nita Whitaker is a singer, actress, author, and literacy advocate who believes dreams have no deadlines. She made her Broadway debut in Alice Childress’s Trouble in Mind and won the 2019 NAACP Best Supporting Actress Award for Born for This. A longtime collaborator of legendary producer David Foster, she has performed with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, and Chris Botti, and recorded demo vocals for Whitney Houston classics including “I Will Always Love You.” Whitaker is also the author of two award-winning books and founder of the nonprofit In a World with Books, which has provided more than 30,500 books to underserved children. A former ICU nurse, Miss Louisiana, and Star Search Hall of Fame Grand Champion, she continues to perform, write, and inspire audiences nationwide.
