Monique L’Heureux is an award-winning lighting designer and longtime collaborator of Artistic Director and Producer Molly Lynch. Their collaborations include the National Choreographers Initiative (since 2005), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and numerous projects with Ballet Pacifica.
Her extensive credits include Ma Cong’s French Twist for Smuin Ballet (originally created for NCI); collaborations with Charlotte Griffin and Maté Szentes for the Palm Desert Choreography Festival; more than 10 seasons with Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet at the Luckman Performing Arts Complex in Los Angeles, the Ailey Center, and Dance Theatre Workshop in New York; over 10 seasons with Ballet California; five seasons with Barak Ballet; and productions with blue13, including Bollywood Delicious and Khel. She has also served as Lighting Director for the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and World Music at the Hollywood Bowl, as well as special events featuring Hugh Jackman, Chita Rivera, Dick Van Dyke, and Kristen Chenoweth. Her work has also been featured at Regional Dance America festivals across the country and in countless productions of The Nutcracker.
Monique has taught at colleges and universities, received four Lester Horton Dance Awards, and is a proud member of IATSE. In addition to lighting design, she is an award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited in galleries and public spaces, including the Long Beach Public Library and a permanent installation at Glendale Adventist Hospital. She currently combines her creative talents with her work as a home and garden stylist and organizer through Art & Designs.
