Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 2007, QI joined Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 2014 and was promoted to the first principal dancer in 2023.

Repertoire credits include: principal roles in The White-haired Girl, Echoes of Eternity (Patrick de Bana), Hamlet (Derek Deane), Coppelia (Pierre Lacotte), Giselle, Swan Lake (Grand Version, Derek Deane), Jane Eyre (Patrick de Bana), The Last Mission of Marco Polo (José Martinez), The Butterfly Lovers (XIN Lili), Le Fantôme de l'Opéra (Derek Deane), Lily (WANG Ge), The Sleeping Beauty (Shanghai Ballet Version, Derek Deane), The Lady of the Camellias (Derek Deane), The Nutcracker (Shanghai Grand Theatre Version, Derek Deane), Follow the Light (WU Husheng); important role in Bright Red Star (ZHAO Ming); performed one-act ballet Lost Star (WU Husheng), Three Shades of Blue, etc.

Selected award credits include: First Award in the 3rd Beijing International Ballet and Choreographer Competition (2015); Gold Award in the 5th Shanghai International Ballet Competition (2016); Best New Artist in Shanghai New Dance Works Selection (2016); the 10th China Dance Lotus Award (2016); Rising Leading Dancer of the 30th Shanghai White Magnolia Stage Performance Award (2020); Professional Gold Award of Contemporary Dance Senior (A) and Gold Award of Professional Group Contemporary Dance in the 2nd International United Cloud Dance Competition (2021); Excellent Performance Award of the 2nd Yangtze River Area Professional Dance Exhibition (Follow the Light, 2023); Excellent Performance Award of the 3rd Yangtze River Area Professional Dance Exhibition (That Moment, 2025).
