Katie Deuitch is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. She began her pre-professional training at Minnesota Dance Theatre before attending two winter terms at the School of American Ballet. Upon graduation, Katie joined Ballet Austin as an apprentice and was promoted to the main company in 2018. Her most notable performances include soloist and principal roles in George Balanchine’s Rubies and Serenade, Amy Seiwert’s Traveling Alone, Jessica Lang’s Garden Blue, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Symbiotic Twin, and the “survivor” in Stephen Mills’ Light/ The Holocaust and Humanity Project. She has danced Odette/Odile and the Sugar Plum Fairy in Stephen Mills’ staging of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. Katie is also a member of project-based company Performa/Dance, directed by Jennifer Hart.
