Sophie Savas-Carstens

Sophie Savas-Carstens began her training at Ballet Arte Academy in San Diego, California. She attended summer intensives at SAB, ABT, and SFB, was a competitor at Jackson IBC, and a Music-Center Spotlight semi-finalist. Sophie joined the Philadelphia Ballet II in 2018, was promoted to apprentice in 2019, and has been a Corps de Ballet member since 2020. Performance highlights include Cygnets in Angel Corella’s Swan Lake, Passion fairy in Corella’s Sleeping Beauty, third movement demi-soloist in Balanchine’s Symphony in C, five couples in Balanchine’s Who Cares, Andonis Foniadakis’s Circumstellars, Garrit Smith’s Reverberence, and corps roles in Angel Corella’s Giselle, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and La Bayadere, George Balanchine’s Agon, Stars and Stripes, Divertimento No. 15, Ballet Imperial, Symphony in C, and Concerto Barocco, as well as Jerome Robins’ Glass Pieces.
