A worldwide French music post war success
A distinctive French "cabaret" style emerged at the end of the 19th century and the dawn of the 20th century, as exemplified by renowned venues like the Moulin Rouge and the Lido. This particular aspect of French culture has gained worldwide recognition. However, until recently, to fully immerse yourself in this experience, one had to visit Paris!
In 2009, while traveling extensively, Gil Marsalla noticed a significant demand from audiences around the world for the timeless French songs of the 20th century. These songs, popularized by iconic artists such as Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Gilbert Bécaud, and Yves Montand, were greatly sought after. Inspired by this, he made the decision to create French cabaret shows and take them on international tours.
Following several years of touring and successfully producing over 1,000 concerts worldwide, Gil has earned recognition as the foremost producer of this cherished musical repertoire.
This is an ever-expanding trend, one that grew each year with his creations, starting with Paris! The Show in 2014, followed by Piaf! The Show in 2015, Formidable Aznavour in 2017, Piaf Symphonic in 2018, Douce France in 2019, Brel! The Show in 2020, Roxane, The Musical in 2021, and What Now My Love in 2022.
Gil Marsalla takes great pride in continuing to preserve his native country's musical heritage and in pioneering the resurgence of French cabaret by introducing it to audiences worldwide.
