Hailing from Hawai’i, Justin Kawika Young initially achieved success in his home island, garnering eleven number-one hits on Hawai’i radio before making the move to Los Angeles. In the local music scene of Los Angeles, he swiftly built a devoted following and established connections with various singer-songwriters, notably Colbie Caillat. This connection led him to become a part of her band, touring as her acoustic guitarist and background vocalist. He also co-wrote two songs featured on Caillat’s album, All of You.

In 2019, Justin and Caillat joined forces in Nashville with two other friends to form the band Gone West. Their debut took place at The Grand Ole Opry in October 2019, and their initial single, "What Could Have Been," ascended to the top 25 on country radio charts. Gone West has amassed over 30 million streams on Spotify.

Justin’s original music has been featured on the soundtracks of notable productions such as Point Break, Wild Horses, and the television series The Walking Dead.
