San Francisco Ballet Principal 

Wei Wang was born in Anshan, Liaoning, China and received his dance training at Beijing Dance Academy, San Francisco Ballet School and the San Francisco Ballet School Trainee Program. In 2012, Wang was named an apprentice of San Francisco Ballet and then joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2013. In 2016, he was promoted to a soloist and then a principal dancer in 2018.

Wang danced in the 2015 film of Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet (Acrobats) in the inaugural season of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance. In October 2017, Wang performed Tomasson’s Concerto Grosso at Fall for Dance at New York City Center. In March 2019, he performed Liam Scarlett’s Frankenstein as The Creature at The Royal Opera House. In July 2021, Wang performed at the Tahoe Dance Camp.
