Sam Ward
Singer

Sam is a 2016 graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts. He played the role of Henri Baurel in the original Australian production of An American in Paris, for which he was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a MusicalSam made his professional debut in 2017 in The Production Company’s Jesus Christ Superstar.  In the same year he was selected as one of the Top 30 finalists for The Rob Guest Endowment, where he was awarded the Playbill Future Prospect Award. Throughout 2018 and 2019 Sam toured Europe and the Caribbean in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, playing the role of Frank, and understudying the roles of Tick and Bob. His other credits include William Murdoch in Titanic (The Marrollo Project), Whizzer in Falsettos (Stageart), Del in The Beautiful Game (Manilla Street Productions), Marius in Les Miserables, Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street (Free-Rain Theatre Company), and They're Playing Our Song (Company Eleven), The Enchanted Pigand Together Apart (Gertrude Opera). In 2021, Sam lent his voice and physical likeness (through motion capture) to the role of Garret Ward, in the world’s first long-form Virtual Reality musical Castle Gillian. Sam is currently performing in Opera Australia’s production of Miss Saigonunderstudying and performing the role of Chris. Sam has been a member of The Ten Tenors since 2019, and is thrilled to get back on the road with the group!
