Amanda Luyks

Amanda Luyks started ballet lessons at the age of 3 at Southland Ballet Academy. She continued to train at SBA under the direction of SBA staff and the studio director, Salwa Rizkalla. As an aspiring young dancer, she has participated in many of FBT’s productions, including The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Texture of Time, and Swan Lake. Last year, she graduated from Huntington Beach High School and attended Colorado Ballet Academy's Summer Intensive on scholarship. She is a full-time student at Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB), majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in dance. For the past three years, she has worked as a teacher at SBA and recently served as a teacher's assistant at CSULB for Professor Lisa Johnson. She continues to train in ballet at SBA as an alumni student.
