John Pizzarelli
Guitar/Vocals

John Pizzarelli, renowned guitarist and vocalist, explores timeless Broadway and Hollywood songs in his new album, Stage & Screen, releasing April 21, 2023, via Palmetto Records. Featuring classics like “I Want To Be Happy” from the 1925 musical No, No, Nanette and “I Love Betsy,” from Honeymoon in Vegas, a stage musical based on the 1992 film, the album spans nearly nine decades of musical history. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of his debut album, I’m Hip, Pizzarelli’s trio—bassist Mike Karn and pianist Isaiah J. Thompson—brings fresh interpretations to pieces by Richard Rodgers, Leonard Bernstein, and more. Pizzarelli’s innovative arrangements were inspired by his livestream concerts during the pandemic.
