Chi-Yuan Lin

Chi-Yuan Lin, born in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Ms. Lin is the mentee of She’s Connected Project from Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship for 2023-2024. She is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral conducting at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, studying with Marin Alsop and Joseph Young starting from the 2021 through a full-tuition scholarship. 

For the past seasons, She worked as a covered conductor at Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and São Paulo Symphony Orchestra with Marin Alsop, and assistant conductor in Peabody Opera Theater with Brian Garman, Laurie Rogers. In 2022-23, she served as head pianist, assistant conductor, and vocal coach in Peabody Opera Theater. In the summer of 2021, she received the conducting fellowship of Aspen Music Festival. An avid promoter of contemporary music, she conducted several premieres of orchestra and chamber works and was invited to conduct Contemporary Music Festival in Taipei in the same year. Ms. Lin is also an advocate for music education. She had been regularly worked as an instructor hosting music and literature workshops for the youth with a variety of topics ranging from new media, theater, to natural conservation. 

She received her Master and Bachelor degree from National Taiwan Normal University, where she studied conducting with Prof. Apo Ching-Hsin Hsu. She has drawn artistic inspiration form her international conducting studies with maestri including Hugh Wolff, Patrick Summers, Dalia Stasevska, Jun Märkl, Jahja Lin, Ulrich Windfuhr and Wen-Pin Chien.
