Caroline Kimrey Talbert earned a Bachelor of Music in Sacred Music and Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Appalachian State University in the mountains of North Carolina. She served as Minister of Music at churches in North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee, where she directed choirs for weekly worship as well as seasonal concerts featuring larger works. While in Nashville, Caroline served as the alto section leader with the Nashville Symphony Chorus, the vocal arm of the Nashville Symphony. During that time, she helped prepare several choral masterworks including Bernstein’s Kaddish, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Handel’s Messiah, Rachmaninoff’s The Bells, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and the world premier recording of Gabriela Lena Frank’s Conquest Requiem. Since moving to Hartford, Caroline sings with the Sanctuary Choir at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, is on the roster for Voce, and is the Assistant Music Director for the Hartford Chorale.
