Saathvik Gorti is a senior at Bearden High School. He has been playing violin for seven years, and has been part of the school orchestra in both middle school and high school. This is his fifth season as a violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has taken violin lessons with Jay Smith and Karen Kartal. Saathvik was selected to play with the ETSBOA Junior Clinic in his freshman year, and the All East orchestra in his junior and senior years. Outside of playing violin, Saathvik has taken Taekwondo lessons and holds the rank of a 2nd degree senior black belt. He is a member of the Robotics Club and Key Club at Bearden High School. Saathvik has applied to several universities including the University of Tennessee Knoxville, North Carolina State University, University of Alabama at Huntsville, and Virginia Tech. He plans to study Aerospace Engineering, with a possible minor in Physics or Astronomy.
