DOMENIQUE LOZANO***
DIRECTOR

Ms. Lozano is a West Coast-based director, actress and educator, and a specialist in German-to-English translation. Directing work includes The Comedy of Errors, The Importance of Being Earnest (SPARC Theatre, Livermore Shakespeare), The Wolves (Southern Oregon University), Tartuffe, Curly Fries- a webisode series, and Men on Boats (UC Berkeley), Fuente Ovejuna, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Sueno, The Skin of Our Teeth, Happy to Stand, and Saved, as well as the world premieres of Staying Wild and Home Front (ACT MFA Program and Young Conservatory Program). She has spent decades in the Bay Area, serving as an Associate Artist with Cal Shakes for 15 years, and playing iconic roles across the Bay Area. As Resident Artist with the American Conservatory Theatre, Ms. Lozano served as a core faculty member and director in the MFA Program, as well as the Young Conservatory Program, and as the resident director of the annual main stage production of A Christmas Carol. Acting credits include California Shakespeare Theatre, CenterRep, ACT, Berkeley Rep and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Translation work includes Don Carlos, The Caucasian Chalk Circle (ACT). Adaptations include The Comedy of Errors, Much Ado, and, most recently, Per Peterson’s To Siberia, co-adapted with Craig Slaight. Domenique has served on the Theatre faculty of UC Berkeley, Southern Oregon University, and St. Mary’s College of California. She is also a professional vocal and text coach.
