KYLE DOUGAN-LEBLANC (any pronouns; DIRECTOR) is thrilled to be leading Music Theater Works into its next era, bringing more than two decades of artistic leadership, community-focused vision, and professional theatrical experience to the organization. I first worked with Music Theater Works as a casting associate and events manager, later returning in 2018 as producing artistic director. My tenure has been marked by a dedication to artistic excellence, community engagement, and expanding access to high-quality musical theater across the North Shore and greater Chicagoland. Originally from St. Louis, I relocated to Chicago in 2009 after completing my master’s in musical theatre production at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I produced and directed workshops of new musicals. While abroad, I also stage managed a series of new works with Perfect Pitch: New Musicals at Trafalgar Studios, developing a passion for nurturing emerging voices and innovative storytelling. In other leadership roles, I have served as artistic producer for Midwest New Musicals, executive director of FWD Theatre Project, and co-owner of Style Theatrical Casting, a professional casting company serving theaters throughout Chicago. I lead Music Theater Works with a belief that theater has the power to change, uplift, and connect communities. Through strategic growth, bold programming, and a commitment to inclusivity, I continue to guide the company toward a vibrant, innovative, and community-centered future. I live with my husband Justin Dougan-LeBlanc in Winnetka with our two children.
