Alicia Berneche has starred in over 12 shows with Music Theater Works over 22 years, highlights including “Sari/Sarah” in Bittersweet, “Rosalinda” in Die Fledermaus, “Mabel” in Pirates of Penzance, and “Agnes Gooch” in Mame. She is thrilled to return to such a fun character as “Martha,” who feels rather autobiographical to her right now! On opera stages around the globe, shecounts as favorites the roles of “Daisy Buchanan” in The Great Gatsby at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the world premiere of Philip Glass’s and Mary Zimmerman’s Galileo Galilei at the Goodman Theatre, London's Barbican Centre, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the many times she got to be “Susanna” in Le Nozze di Figaro. Alicia is a librettist of two operas, Thank you, Next! , which had its world premiere at Milwaukee Opera Theatre, and Science Friction, which had its première at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
