Nathan is a writer, educator, director, and dramaturg from Toledo, OH. They are a fifth-year Ph.D. student in performance studies at Northwestern University, where they are also pursuing certificates in gender & sexuality studies, critical theory, and teaching. Their research attends to the intersections of feminism, queer, and trans liberation, and climate justice, examining how artists and communities respond to the various states of ecological disaster, climate catastrophe, and political emergency that shape the way we live now, as well as how we imagine more just futures. In addition to their research, advocacy work, and teaching, Nathan has directed, produced, and conducted dramaturgical research for a number of theatrical productions and arts organizations in Chicago and St. Louis, MO, and has participated in numerous initiatives to enhance audience engagement and experience.
