Evan Mitchell is a performing tenor and teacher active in opera and musical theatre throughout the United States and Canada. Recent performance credits include Rodolfo in La bohème with Opera Bend; the 4th Jew in Madison Opera’s Salome, and Ferrando in Così fan tutte with both Portland Summer Opera and the University of Oregon Opera Theatre. Upcoming performances include Alfredo Germont in La traviata, March 2023, with the University of Wisconsin. Evan played chorus and comprimario roles with the Minnesota Opera for two seasons, and his work as a French Soldier in Kevin Puts’ Pulitzer-Prize winning opera Silent Night has been recorded on the NAXOS American Opera Classics label.
Other credits include world premieres with the Wildish Theater, Cascadia Chamber Opera, and Minnesota Opera, a national premiere of Michael Ching’s Buoso’s Ghost, and world premiere performances with l’Opéra de Montréal through Opera America’s New Works Forum.
