Melissa Doiron
conductor

Melissa Doiron (B. Mus., B.Mus.Ed., MUN, M.Ed, Acadia University) is the assistant conductor of Chebucto Symphony Orchestra, co-founder of Glass Winds Ensemble, and Music Director at Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She is a guest conductor and featured clinician with numerous ensembles such as the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and the Early Music Society of Nova Scotia.  

Along with her colleague Pam Paddock, Melissa is a co-founding director of the all-female wind ensemble Glass Winds, which is focused on performing works by women and BIPOC composers. Melissa was featured on a panel for the Canadian Band Association as a mentor for upcoming music educators. She won the Distinguished Band Director of the Year Award from the Nova Scotia Band Association in 2021.
