Kennedy Pye is a Grade 11 French Immersion student at Bay View High School who began her dance training at age three. Her interest in ballet moved her to East Coast Dance Academy under the Artistic Director and owner Andrea LeBlanc. There, Kennedy trains in ballet/pointe, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, and hip-hop dance styles; ballet remaining one of her loves.
Kennedy studies under the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and has completed Advanced Foundation. She is currently training towards Advanced 1. Kennedy was a member of the 2023 Halifax Dance Young Company. Most recently, Kennedy is participating in the Rooted Dance Projects-Rooted Youth Project under the direction of Stephanie Mitro and Kathleen Doherty.
Kennedy is also a competitive dancer, participating in various dance competitions yearly. She has won multiple awards, top marks, and scholarships both as a group member as well as a soloist.
Kennedy has been a dancer in Symphony Nova Scotia’s production of The Nutcracker since 2022. She was also a local participant with Ballet Jörgen in their 2020 production of Anne of Green Gables: The Ballet. In 2023 and 2024, Kennedy participated as a dancer in Les Productions Fusion Productions’ Akiko and Zorka Halifax events.
Kennedy’s greatest joy is sharing her love of dance with others.
