Patti D'beck (Director & Choreographer) is happy to be back at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts where she previously directed shows including Ghost the Musical, Nunsense, Grease, La Cage aux Folles, Sister Act, 9 to 5, Ain't Misbehavin', & Phantom. A long-time veteran of Broadway musical theatre, her credits as Associate Choreographer, Supervisor, Dance Captain, and actor include A Chorus Line, Applause (Lauren Bacall), Seesaw, Pippin (Ben Vereen), Evita, The Will Rogers Follies (Keith Carradine), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Annie Get Your Gun (Bernadette Peters), My One and Only (Tommy Tune), Bells Are Ringing, and Grease! (Rosie O'Donnell). Patti has worked with many notable director/choreographers including Tommy Tune, Jeff Calhoun, Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, and Hal Prince. Regional theatre/off-Broadway directing or choreography include Chicago, Five Guys Named Moe, Sophisticated Ladies, Guys and Dolls, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Kiss Me Kate, Cabaret, Annie, and West Side Story. Ms. D'Beck directed Emily Skinner in Mame at Virginia Rep Theatre, where she also directed White Christmas, Guys and Dolls, The Producers, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She was co-choreographer for MATA HARI, a new Frank Wildhorn musical, in Seoul, Korea. In addition, she works at the VCU Center for Patient Safety and Human Simulation as a Standardized Patient (SP), where Patti portrays patient scenarios to instruct and train doctors in the art of critical thinking, patient safety, team interaction, and communication. Patti taught at Virginia Commonwealth, New York and Pace Universities and holds a BA in Mathematics/Performing Arts from NYU and a Masters from NYU. In addition, she is a Certified Mediation Trainer.
