A winner of the Naumburg Competition and the Gregor Piatigorsky Memorial Award, Carr serves on the faculties of the Royal Academy of Music and Stony Brook University and is Musician-in-Residence at St. John’s College, Oxford. He performs on a 1730 Matteo Gofriller cello.
Cellist Mira Kardan is an emerging artist recognized for her expressive musicianship as both a soloist and chamber musician. A recipient of the Renette and David Berman Scholarships, she studies with Hans Jørgen Jensen and Andrés Díaz at the Glenn Gould School. Previously, she attended the Colburn Music Academy, where she studied with Clive Greensmith and served as principal cellist of the Colburn Academy Virtuosi.
An accomplished chamber musician, Mira was a member of the Olive Piano Trio, winner of the 2022 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition Gold Medal and the Chicago International Music Competition Grand Prize. Her current string trio won first prize in the 2025 Glenn Gould School Chamber Competition. As a soloist, she won the 2025 Shean Strings Competition and will appear with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. She performs on a 2019 Grubaugh & Seifert Montagnana-model cello.
