Ryan Stapish has always been naturally inclined toward creative pursuits and is currently involved with choir, art, and theater in addition to playing the violin and organ. Stapish has been playing violin since the fourth grade, where he joined the school orchestra. This experience has translated into playing as the concertmaster for the Yankton High School orchestra and playing violin in the All-State Orchestra for four years, as well as becoming the bass [voice] section leader of his school's a cappella choir. Music has been an outlet for creativity, and Stapish expresses his gratitude toward his mom, who was a violin teacher and mentor for him, toward SDSYO for its opportunities for performing and building community, and toward his grandparents who have been significantly supportive in his participation in SDSYO — including driving him to rehearsal! Next year, Stapish will attend Augustana University to study exercise science as well as pursue a minor in music.
