Jing Yan is a senior at Lincoln High School and plays the violin, piano, oboe and flute.  Yan plays in Lincoln's symphonic orchestra and symphonic band, as well as the South Dakota Symphony Youth Orchestra.  Yan is currently taking violin lessons with South Dakota Symphony Orchestra concertmaster, Doosook Kim, and piano lessons with Director of Keyboards at Augustana University, Shu Li.  Yan is planning on attending Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania starting in the fall of 2023, majoring in the IDEAS (Integrated Degree in Engineering and Arts and Sciences) program.  Yan plans to continue playing the violin and flute after high school, along with joining the Lehigh University Orchestra and marching band.
