KESAR PATEL is a classical Indian dancer with 13 years of tutelage in kathak. Born and raised in San Diego, she was immersed in Gujarati folk traditions from a young age through her family’s engagements in the Indian cultural community. She had the distinct honor of becoming a Ganda Bandhan shagird of Dr. Bhairavi Kumar in 2018 and is committed to deepening her understanding of the kathak dance form. She hopes to share the sense of joy and solace she has found in the Indian classical and cultural arts with as many creative souls as possible. Kesar is completing her doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. It has been her experience that when intention, breath, and movement are in union, the mind-body complex can create its own art! She joined Sa in 2025.
