Three Dog Night

Legendary music icons, Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including three #1 singles, 11 Top 10’s, 18 straight Top 20’s, seven million-selling singles, and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. Their music has appeared on best-selling charts in pop, rock, and country, and continues to sell worldwide. The Grammy®-nominated band, created in 1968 by Danny Hutton, has recorded the music of Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams, and Hoyt Axton. The group’s eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive, and appealing style resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.

Today, Three Dog Night’s hits are threaded through the fabric of pop culture, whether on the radio where their songs are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures—hits like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come),” “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala,” and “One,” jog our memories, heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night’s continuing popularity.

Three Dog Night transcends time bringing together both new and old fans alike as the band pursues an extensive tour schedule of nearly 100 concerts a year at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Their hit-filled performances feature Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) with long time bandmates Paul Kingery (bass/vocals) and Pat Bautz (drums), David Morgan (vocals), Howard Lavarea (keyboards), and Tim Hutton (bass). The band’s now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters who huddled with their dogs for warmth—the coldest being a “three dog night.”
