a native of Westmont, NJ, began his ballet instruction at age nine with the Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet and continued his training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary. Hussey joined Pennsylvania Ballet II in 2004 and was promoted to Pennsylvania Ballet in 2006. There he rose through the ranks before being promoted to Principal Dancer in 2012. Hussey spent 15 years as an artist with Pennsylvania Ballet performing a vast range of leading classical and contemporary roles. His diverse repertoire includes featured roles in works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, John Cranko, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Christopher Wheeldon, Trey McIntyre, and Matthew Neenan, to name a few. In May 2014, he was featured in Margo Sappington’s Under the Sun Pas de Deux during the PBS nationwide broadcast of Pennsylvania Ballet at 50. Hussey was the Producing Director of the production Shut Up & Dance, an annual benefit for Philadelphia-based charity MANNA, from 2012 to 2017. In May of 2019, Hussey retired from Pennsylvania Ballet after a distinguished career. He joined American Repertory Ballet as Rehearsal Director during the 2019/2020 season.
