Matanya Solomon

was born in Alexandria VA, began his dance training in West Virginia at 14. At 15 he began studying at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory where he spent four years under the direction of Victoria Mazzarelli, Tim Melady, Alexei Tchernichov, Kirk Peterson and Eleanor DAntouno before joining American Repertory Ballet as a Trainee in 2016. This is his seventh season with American Repertory Ballet and his fourth as a company member. His repertoire includes Snow King, The Nutcracker Prince, and Candy Cane in ARB's The Nutcracker, Franz in Princeton Ballet School's Coppelia, Ad Man in Douglas Martin's Rite of Spring, August Bournonvilles Flower Festival in Genzano, José Limóns There is a Time, Paul Taylors Airs, Septime Webres Fluctuating Hemlines, Claire Davisons Time Within A Time, Ryoko Tanakas Hindsight, and DaVon Doanes Kaleidoscope Mind.
