Kayke Carvalho

Kayke Carvalho began his classical ballet training at the age of three at the Pamela Lima Ballet in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. At the age of 11 he was awarded a full scholarship to train at the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, graduating in 2020. In January 2021, Carvalho joined Bolshoi Brazil as a company member. He competed in the Prix de Lausanne in 2021, where he was selected as a Finalist and awarded a full scholarship to the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. He continued dancing with Bolshoi Brazil until September 2021, when he moved to New York to attend the ABT JKO School for a year under Cynthia Harvey’s direction. Carvalho joined ABT Studio Company in September 2022 under the artistic direction of Sascha Radetsky. In ABT Studio Company, he created roles in ballets by Gemma Bond, Houston Thomas, and James Whiteside and performed in new ballets by Hope Boykin, Emily Kikta, Amy Hall Garner, Jamar Roberts, and Brady Farrar. Carvalho’s repertoire with ABT Studio Company also includes pas de deux from Paquita, Don Quixote, Diana and Acteon, and Alexei Ratmansky’s The Seasons; the principal role in “Country Gardens” from Twyla Tharp’s Brief Fling; and Daniel Ulbricht’s Tatum Pole Boogie. He has performed in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker with the main Company of American Ballet Theatre and will join the Company as an apprentice in December 2024.
