Vince Pelegrin was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He began studying dance at the age of eight at Steps Dance Studio in Makati, Philippines under the direction of Sofia Elizalde. At age 16, he moved to New York City and was awarded a full scholarship at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School under the direction of Cynthia Harvey. He graduated from the School in 2022 and attended Kaatsbaan Summer Festival and the ABT New York Summer Intensive on full scholarship. Pelegrin joined ABT Studio Company in September 2022 under the artistic direction of Sascha Radetsky. In ABT Studio Company, he created roles in ballets by Gemma Bond and Amy Hall Garner and performed in new ballets by Hope Boykin, Emily Kikta, Houston Thomas, Lauren Lovette, Jamar Roberts, James Whiteside, and Brady Farrar. Pelegrin’s repertoire with ABT Studio Company also includes a Raymonda suite, Daniel Ulbricht’s Tatum Pole Boogie, the Neapolitan Dance from Swan Lake, the Diana and Acteon pas de deux, and George Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux. He has performed in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker with the main Company of American Ballet Theatre and will join the Company as an apprentice in December 2024.
