Gui Duvignau is a French-born Brazilian bassist, composer, and improviser whose music bridges jazz, Brazilian traditions, and global influences. A recording artist on Sunnyside and Adhyâropa Records, his projects include 3,5,8, Baden (with guests Ron Carter and Bill Frisell), and his trio with pianist Jacob Sacks and drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell. He is also the author of From the Bottom Up, a book of interviews with legendary jazz bassists. His work has been featured internationally in The New York Times, DownBeat, JazzTimes, and on stages and radios worldwide.
