Did you know? Born in Klein, TX—a small town (named after his great-grandfather, a Bavarian weaver named Adam Klein) that later became a Houston suburb—Lyle Lovett was raised on his family's horse ranch. He began his music career by writing songs while attending Texas A&M University in the late '70s, where he studied journalism and German. Since then, Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums.
Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lovett has evolved into one of music's most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association's inaugural Trailblazer Award and was named Texas State Musician.
