Welcome to Wolf Trap, your home for extraordinary performances under the stars!
As America’s only National Park for the Performing Arts, Wolf Trap combines music and nature to bring you an unforgettable summer experience in a majestic natural setting. Since the first performance in 1971, world-renowned artists and performers from every genre have graced Wolf Trap’s stages.
Celebrating 53 years in 2024, the Filene Center is operated in partnership with the National Park Service and is home to Wolf Trap Foundation’s nationally renowned summer performance seasons.
The National Park also features the charmingly rustic Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods and the intimate Meadow Stage. The 117-acre Park offers dining and hospitality amenities throughout the summer and year-round recreational opportunities, including hiking trails, picnic areas, and sledding.
Welcome to Summer 2024!
A week of performances at Wolf Trap is as varied as the audiences who attend. We are proud to showcase the best of popular music, dance, film, and classical music all in this very special outdoor environment.
More than a dozen phenomenal artists make their Filene Center debuts this summer including blues rocker Gary Clark Jr., chart-topping singer Lauren Daigle, Bollywood megastar Shreya Ghoshal, R&B icons En Vogue, and Hip Hop luminaries The Roots, led by Black Thought and Questlove.
Returning fan favorites include Jerry Seinfeld, John Legend, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, James Taylor, and many more legendary performers. In June, we host the second Out & About Festival — a celebration of music, nature, and Pride. A full day of music across all three of our outdoor stages, the event features the supremely talented Brittany Howard, Jenny Lewis, and Lawrence, along with a slate of outstanding artists, food trucks, and community partners.
Our friends at the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) bring a range of film scores to life and showcase unforgettable collaborations with Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, rap icon Nas, and indie star Beck. The Orchestra also returns in partnership with Wolf Trap Opera for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and a one-night only production of Puccini’s masterpiece, La bohème. In addition to the NSO, we are proud to continue our partnerships with some of the best of our local arts community including The Washington Chorus, alongside a host of choral groups; Signature Theatre; The “President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band; and The Washington Ballet.
This summer, we are thrilled to continue elevating the concert-going experience with the opening of the Meadow Commons. This multi-level building offers expanded food and drink services, upgraded and additional restrooms, and new gathering spaces with spectacular Meadow views. Most importantly, this transformative building includes elevators that now allow all patrons to easily access all levels of the Park for the first time. We couldn’t be more excited to open the Meadow Commons, and I invite you to learn more about it below.
As we usher in an extraordinary summer at Wolf Trap, I want to thank our loyal patrons and generous supporters. Your collective enthusiasm and dedication will allow Wolf Trap to grow for generations to come.
Enjoy the show!
