A Message from the Superintendent

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, our nation’s only national park dedicated to the performing arts.

In 1966, Mrs. Catherine Filene Shouse provided not just the land and funding, but also the vision for the majestic Filene Center, so that generations to come could enjoy the performing arts in this spectacular natural setting. I am thrilled that our public/private partnership with Wolf Trap Foundation, now spanning more than five decades, is stronger than ever.

Over the last few years, we have worked closely with the Foundation on several new features to enhance your Park experience. This year, the stunning Meadow Commons debuts with new amenities and impressive views of the Park’s grounds.

As you settle in to enjoy a memorable performance, I invite you to visit the Park again throughout the year to enjoy our native plant gardens, discover the more than two miles of walking trails, and cherish the serenity of Mrs. Shouse’s beloved Wolf Trap.
