Simon Rossiter is a Toronto-based lighting designer who occasionally designs scenery. Specializing in lighting for dance, he’s had the privilege of collaborating on more than 300 unique designs with a wide range of companies (including Citadel + Compagnie, Dancemakers, The National Ballet of Canada, Côté Danse, and Toronto Dance Theatre) and choreographers (including Peggy Baker, Robert Binet, Guillaume Côté, Robert Desrosiers, Christopher House, James Kudelka, Tedd Robinson, Heidi Strauss, and Jera Wolfe), and is the director of design for the Fall for Dance North Festival.
Rossiter’s designs have been honored with 10 Dora Mavor Moore nominations, received the award three times, and been twice nominated for the Ontario Arts Council’s Pauline McGibbon Award. Rossiter also serves as the Business Agent for the Associated Designers of Canada, IATSE Local ADC659.
