Rennette, a proud Native Houstonian and mother to Byron and Blade (her cat), has a love for the theatre that has grown by her performances at The Ensemble Theatre in Black Nativity, They Sing Christmas Up in Harlem, Harlem After Hours, Pure Gospel Christmas which she won a Giorgee Award for best supporting Actress in a Musical; and Cinderella. She is a proud performer of the Fade to Black Festival with Why Husbands Hold Their Tongues, The Vessel by Which, and They Say. She has performed with The Houston Suitcase Theatre at the University Houston with Dr. Elizabeth Brown-Guillory; The Encore Theatre, Prof Harold Haynes; The Great Caruso Theatre in Dreamgirls and other community theatre productions around the city as well as singing for various events and churches.
She is currently an educator at the historic Jack Yates Senior High School where she is a member of the English Department, LPAC Coordinator, Sheltered Instruction Coach, Title 1 Coordinator and Debate Coach. She is proud member of Riverside UMC. She is also the Director for the Primerica AALC Stephanie Scales Choir and is grateful to share her talents and gifts with others. She continues to live by Proverbs 3:5-6.
