We’ve already got the music covered at Out & About Festival, and now we’re spreading the love with snacks, meals, and drinks. From food trucks and buffets to concessions and BYO fare, there are many ways to stay well-fed and hydrated throughout this jam-packed weekend.
We’re rolling in delicious food trucks onto the Meadow with grab-and-go foods starting at 3 PM. Enjoy tasty bites as you take in the day’s activities.
The Roaming Coyote and their Howling Good Food joins the wolf pack! Dig into their delicious tacos (veggie, chicken, steak, or pork), taco bowls, or mini chimis—the chimichangas you know and love, just bite-sized. For a lighter snack, dip into your choice of queso, guac, or salsa with chips. Cheese quesadillas are made-to-order for the kiddos.
Bringing a taste of Nepal to the Meadow with their “momos” (aka dumplings) is Himalayan Soul Foods. Take your pick of steamed ground chicken, pork, or vegetables with red onions, ginger, and soy sauce. And spice things up by dunking the “momos” in their signature hot salsa.
Is the irresistible smell of freshly baked cookies wafting from that food truck? Stop by Captain Cookie & the Milkman to mix and match your favorite ice cream and cookie flavors—including chocolate chip, double chocolate, funfetti, snickerdoodle, and more—for the ice cream sandwich of your dreams! Be sure to snap a pic before it melts away!
What’s the tea on our drink menu? Don’t worry, there are plenty of cold drinks throughout the Park to keep you refreshed.
In the Drinks tent, summery ales from Starr Hill Brewery are up on draft. Plus, try some canned cocktails or the brand-new Wolf Trap Special Lager made in collaboration with Caboose Brewing Co.
If wine is more your style, go for a glass from XOBC Cellars at the tent. The brand is curated by self-confessed vinophile Brandi Carlile with the proceeds benefiting her Looking Out Foundation. VIP festival guests can also enjoy the XOBC Cellars Wine Lounge with entertainment by Small Town Strings—Carlile’s niece and nephew.
For even more drink options, swing by Ovations and concessions stands to sample specialty cocktails—including Margaritas, Cuba Libres, and Sangria—as well as mocktails, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and bottled water. The fruity, hoppy, and refreshing pale ale, Wolf Trap Summer Ale (also by Caboose Brewing), returns for another season along with the new Wolf Trap Special Lager.
Throughout the day and evening, stay hydrated with water bottle filling stations located around the Park.
If you’re here to feast look no further than The Fermented Pig at Ovations, open from 3 PM until the start of Filene Center performances at 6:30 PM. This farm-to-table, al fresco restaurant serves up a buffet of BBQ favorites, tasty vegan and vegetarian specialties, and creative cocktails. Reservations are encouraged.
The Fermented Pig also serves up some fun in the sun from 3 PM – 6 PM with quick meals at their Meadow tent including pulled pork and chicken, bratwursts, and grilled portobellos.
For Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods shows, a special kid-friendly lunch buffet (with fruit, pasta, chicken, veggie nuggets, and more) will be available at Ovations from 11 AM – 12 PM.
The Filene Center’s concessions stands will be open throughout the afternoon and evening with more snacks and quick meal options to satisfy your cravings.
You’ll never feel hangry when items like the Jumbo Lump Maryland Crabcake Sandwich, Wolf Burger (double beef, double bacon, double cheese, yes please!), Beyond Burger, vegan Mezze Platter, and more are on offer.
You also can’t miss the Nordic Knot soft pretzel with beer cheese or mustard! And what better way to end your evening than with some soft serve ice cream?
Even with all these mouth-watering options, you can always bring your own food and drinks (yes, that includes alcohol!) from home. Bonus points if they have a rainbow theme!
Just make sure to check out our FAQs for cooler size limits. All containers and packages must pass through security screening before entering the Filene Center.
We can’t wait to see you and your fabulous ‘fits, food, and drinks at the Out & About Festival! Tickets still available at wolftrap.org/outandabout.
