Freddie De Tommaso made his highly anticipated US Debut in Tosca!

Santa Fe Is For Lovers

Recently featured in The New York Times, Ailyn Pérez confirmed that days after the opening night of Rusalka, she and bass-baritone Soloman Howard were quietly married in Santa Fe. They first met in Santa Fe in 2016 amid performances of Roméo et Juliette and began dating in 2019. In support of Songs from the Santa Fe Opera in 2020, the couple collaborated on a music video of “Song to the Moon,” which is still viewable on the opera's YouTube channel. The evening before they said “I do,” we photographed the pair as they look forward to the future, including Ailyn’s upcoming performances at the Metropolitan Opera in Florencia en al Amazonas and Soloman’s return to the SFO stage in Don Giovanni in 2024. Bravi and toi toi toi to the happy couple!

SFO Archives Online

We have dedicated significant effort to developing our online production and artist archives. Our goal is to share as much information as possible with you, starting with our opening season in 1957! The production titles are available back to our first season, and a significant number of pages are taking shape. We regularly add new information, and some details still need to be completed. You can explore our repertoire by title, year, artist name, or composer by visiting: https://www.santafeopera.org/events-archive/

SFO Engages In Win-Win Contract Negotiations

The Santa Fe Opera is pleased to have successfully negotiated a new five-year agreement with the American Federation of Musicians, the union representing the esteemed members of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. The process was marked by its collaborative tone and constructive outcomes. Also of note are recent contract extensions for General Director Robert K. Meya, through 2028, and Music Director Harry Bicket, through 2026. With these agreements in place, the future of open-air opera in Santa Fe shines even brighter!

New Members And Roles Within The Development Department

The Santa Fe Opera Development Department welcomed new leadership this spring under Eva James Toia, with a 25-year track record specializing in the arts. Connor Howard has taken on the position of Senior Major Gifts Officer, while we extend a warm welcome to Kelsey Holmes, who joins us as the new Major Gifts Officer. Additionally, Jessica Orona has transitioned into the role of Development Administrator, and we have a new Development Assistant, Madeline Adams.

New Director of Production

We welcomed the return of Kris Longley-Postema, who has joined us as the newly appointed Director of Production. He has history with our organization, having worked in the Stage Management Department for three seasons and later as Associate Production and Facilities Director for four seasons. In addition, he was an integral part of the three-year “Setting the Stage” theater renovation project.
