Mohini Dey is an internationally acclaimed bassist, arranger, producer, and vocalist, celebrated for her extraordinary talent and versatility. Known for her distinctive style and impeccable technique, she has performed on prestigious stages worldwide and collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists. A native of Mumbai, India, she began her professional career at just nine years old and has spent more than two decades in the music industry.

She was named “Most Successful Musician Under 30” by Forbes India and is the only female bassist to be included in MusicRadar’s “Top 10 Bassists of the 21st Century.” Her global reach extends across digital platforms, where she has amassed more than 20 million YouTube views, along with a substantial following on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

Dey currently performs as the bassist for Willow Smith. Her extensive list of collaborators includes artists such as Steve Vai, Zakir Hussain, Quincy Jones, Stanley Clarke, Mike Stern, A. R. Rahman, Victor Wooten, Guthrie Govan, and Dave Weckl, among many others. She has also worked with leading Indian singers and composers, including Salim–Sulaiman, Amit Trivedi, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, and Vishal–Shekhar.

Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including Vogue, Rolling Stone, Bass Magazine, and The Hindu, and she has appeared in major newspapers such as The Times of India and Hindustan Times. She has performed with Willow Smith on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

Dey has appeared at major international festivals and venues, including the Hollywood Bowl, Blue Note, San Jose Jazz Festival, and Lugano Jazz Estival, among many others. She has also been featured on television programs such as MTV Unplugged and Coke Studio. In addition to her performance career, she collaborates with numerous global brands and endorses a range of leading music equipment companies.
