Music Director Daniel Hope leads New Century Chamber Orchestra in a program of works from the mid-20th century that shaped the American sound for a new generation, headlined by Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring Suite, in its intimate original setting for 13 instruments. American soprano Leah Hawkins joins New Century for a suite of newly arranged songs by influential composers of the Harlem Renaissance.
