ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sooyeon Jun is a virtuoso violinist, composer, and teacher. She was born in Busan, South Korea. Jun started her music career at the age of six playing the piano. A couple of years later she found her new passion for the violin.

Jun was professionally trained as a violinist at Busan High school of Arts and the Sookmyong Women's University in Seoul. She was the winner of the Kosin University competition in Korea.

After completing her undergraduate studies in Korea, Jun moved to Europe to continue her studies with Prof. Ulf Schneider in Germany and with Prof. Helfried Fister in Austria at Kärntner Landes Musik Konservatorium (Gustav Mahler Private University for Music) where she received her Master's degree in Classical Music Performance.

As a soloist and with ensembles, Jun played in many prestigious music venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall in New York, Carabinieri Saal at Residenz in Salzburg in Austria, and Spindler-Klatt in Berlin Germany. She also performed ensembles at Beryl Elites conferences at City Winery and The Cutting Room in New York City. She has appeared as a soloist at NYFW 2017 and 2018. She played in numerous orchestras, chamber music groups, and bands in various venues in Korea, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the U.S.

As an actress, Jun acted in various commercials, TV shows, and movies. Jun is also a recording artist and attended various music projects such as reggae, pop, jazz, heavy metal, electronic, free improvisation, and classical music. She loves to collaborate with different music styles and different art forms. In 2016 she joined music scoring and recording for the soundtrack Siennas Choice and Krazy Beautiful. She acted as Madame D in the movie, Krazy Beautiful.

Jun currently resides in New York City and works as a freelance musician and a teaching artist. She has been teaching over 1000 students the inner power through music globally.
