Welcome

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Moving Forces, the first performance of our 2025/26 Season. This program is a love letter to our community. It is a reflection of the strength, spirit, and generosity I see in Washington, DC, and in all of the artists who bring this city to life through their artistry.

Each work you’ll experience tonight has been chosen to honor the power of movement to connect, uplift, and transform. It’s a celebration of the creative forces that shape us, both individually and collectively. It is a tribute to the resilience and indefatigable talent of our dancers.

I’m especially proud that Tributary, the final piece in the Moving Forces program, features Trainee students from The Washington School of Ballet dancing alongside our professional company. This marks the first of four opportunities this season for our students to share the stage with the company. It speaks to our deep commitment to mentorship, growth, and the future of ballet. I hope you can join us again this season at The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Cinderella to experience the unparalleled artistry and commitment of our company and student dancers.

As we begin this new season together, it’s my opportunity to thank you for your continued support. Your presence here tonight is an important reminder of why we do what we do.

You make it possible for us to dream confidently, create fearlessly, and move forward with purpose.

Sincerely.

This level of engagement reflects the high-caliber training provided by our faculty and reinforces our commitment to preparing the next generation of exceptional dancers.
