Known variously as St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, and Kris Kringle, Santa Claus has earned a longstanding worldwide reputation for bringing joy to families at Christmastime. The North Pole-based Claus oversees a large workshop of elves who make Christmas toys for girls and boys. His stable is home to nine reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Donner, Cupid, Comet and Blitzen, as well as Rudolph, the most famous reindeer of all. His current projects include making a comprehensive list of who’s naughty and nice, and checking it twice. Well-known for his love of interacting with fans, he enjoys riding on fire trucks, spending time at shopping malls, and listening to the Christmas wishes of children around the world. After his visit to Buffalo, he will prepare to embark on a global one-night tour on December 24, stopping at every home on the planet to deliver Christmas gifts. He sends a special thank you to his good friend Jeffrey Coyle, who helped arrange for him to visit the Buffalo Philharmonic today.
