Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra
Message from the Board Chair, Scott R. Stenclik

As spring continues at Kleinhans Music Hall, we’re delighted to share an exciting lineup of BPO performances. From favorite Disney songs and family-friendly classics to symphonic masterworks and iconic popular music, this collection of concerts highlights the breadth and artistry of our orchestra.

On April 17 and 18, Disney in Concert: A Dream Is a Wish brings the magic of Disney to life, featuring songs and scenes from Frozen, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and more with the full orchestra and Broadway-caliber vocalists under the direction of Ron Spigelman. The following day, conductor Grant O’Brien and narrator Brandon Williamson lead the orchestra in the final Kids Series concert of the season, Peter and the Wolf—introducing young audiences to orchestral instruments through Prokofiev’s musical tale.

The Classics Series continues April 24 and 25 with a richly varied program under Brazilian conductor Roberto Minczuk’s baton. Opening with Elodie Bouny’s Ignis II—a powerful contemporary reflection on the Amazon rainforest—young virtuoso violinist Amaryn Olmeda then joins the orchestra for Mendelssohn’s famous Violin Concerto, followed by Dvořák’s folk song-inspired eighth symphony.

We begin May with two special performances that conclude this season’s Rock Series and welcome one of Broadway’s biggest stars. On May 1, The Strictly Hip return to share their masterful tribute to The Tragically Hip, conducted by Bradley Thachuk. The following evening, Tony and GRAMMY Award-winning artist Leslie Odom, Jr. takes the spotlight for one night only, singing selections from Broadway and the American Songbook backed by the full orchestra and conducted by Ron Spigelman.

Amid these many concerts, we’re also looking forward to the 2026–27 concert season, featuring more outstanding guest artists and a vast range of memorable music experiences. To learn about next season’s events and subscription packages, please visit bpo.org.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you enjoy the music and join us at Kleinhans Music Hall for more performances ahead.

Sincerely,

Scott R. Stenclik
