As spring arrives, our BPO presents a dynamic stretch of concerts that transport audiences across continents, genres, and generations. From symphonic masterworks and boundary-defying contemporary artistry to the sounds of European vistas and Gotham City, this collection of performances showcases the remarkable range of our orchestra.
The Bat Signal lights up Buffalo on March 14 as Ron Spigelman leads Danny Elfman’s iconic score to Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) live along with the film—just one week following Danny Elfman’s appearance here for his Percussion Concerto. The following evening, travel multi-hyphenate Rick Steves takes center stage for “Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey,” blending works by beloved European composers with breathtaking visuals and his signature educational storytelling.
Music Director JoAnn Falletta leads a compelling program on March 20 and 21 with violinist Simone Porter, including George Butterworth’s The Banks of Green Willow, Bruch’s folk-inspired Scottish Fantasy, and Brahms’ impressive first symphony. Following these performances, JoAnn, Simone, and our musicians travel to Florida to share their remarkable renditions of this repertoire with audiences across the state.
GRAMMY-nominated contemporary violinist and singer-songwriter Andrew Bird makes his BPO debut on April 7, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his album, The Mysterious Production of Eggs, with a special full-album orchestral performance. We then welcome two guests on April 11 and 12: Polish conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń and Spanish classical guitarist Pablo Sainz-Villegas, performing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez alongside works by Bacewicz, Fauré, and Borodin.
We are also excited to look ahead to the newly announced 2026–27 concert season, which continues the BPO’s commitment to presenting outstanding guest artists, inspiring programming, and meaningful musical experiences for our community. Thank you for your continued support of orchestral music in Western New York. We look forward to welcoming you to Kleinhans Music Hall for the concerts ahead.
Sincerely,
