Alexandra McArthur is a Buffalo-based vocalist, educator, composer, and artistic collaborator whose work spans jazz, choral music, musical theatre, arts education, wellness, and interdisciplinary performance. Her work is rooted in expressive musicianship, emotionally honest storytelling, collaboration, and a deep respect for the histories, traditions, and people that shape the music she engages with.

A four-time JazzBuffalo Female Vocalist of the Year, Alexandra has performed at countless concert halls and venues throughout Western New York. She regularly collaborates with Buffalo and Rochester jazz legends and is a longtime collaborator with the Buffalo Jazz Collective and the Historic Colored Musicians Club & Jazz Museum. A featured vocalist and concert host with the BPO’s Education Program, her career highlights include opening for Gregory Porter with Bob Sneider, portraying Billie Holiday alongside George Caldwell in MusicalFare's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, and collaborating with Bobby Militello from 2015–2022.

Alexandra has been a member of Vocalis Chamber Choir and the Toronto-based Nathaniel Dett Chorale since 2018. She was recently brought on as Alto Section Leader at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, where her work as a choral musician, composer, and artistic collaborator continues to expand.

Alexandra studied musical theatre and classical vocal performance at the University at Buffalo. She teaches music at Cardinal O'Hara High School, works with private voice students, and leads workshops, masterclasses, and educational programs for students and communities.

Performing with the BPO is the realization of a lifelong dream. Alexandra gives thanks to God, her guardian angels, and all who have helped bring her to this moment. She is especially grateful to her parents, Raymond and Beverly, whose musical influence laid the foundation for the multifaceted artist she has become.
