Hi, I’m Makaela! I am a senior at Dade County High School, and have been in CYS for all four years of high school. I have been playing flute for almost seven years, and in my time have been part of the DCHS marching, concert, and jazz band, as well as the GMEA District 7 Honor Band, and Allstate band. In my free time I love to play my instrument, sing, read, and crochet. In the future I will be attending college to pursue a degree in either music education or musical theatre! 

What is your advice to someone considering auditioning for the CYS?
Absolutely go for it! It has been something that I look forward to every week for the past four years. The combination of the community and the music makes for a phenomenal experience, and memories that I will hold onto for a lifetime!
