Phil Elkins (Trumpet) joined the Greenville Symphony as Third Trumpet in 1996, and has served as Co-PrincipalTrumpet since 2002.  In addition to the Greenville Symphony, Mr. Elkins has been a member of the Macon Symphony and the Columbus (GA) Symphony Orchestras.  He was the Director of Operations and Orchestra Personnel Manager for the GSO from 2015 to 2020.  A former instructor at Furman University and Greenville Tech, he was also Visiting Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, and the Instructor of Trumpet at Clayton State University,  Kennesaw State University, and the University of West Georgia.
