Nick Mancini, a versatile vibraphonist, marimbist, and composer, embarked on his musical journey as a drummer at the age of 15. After earning his A.S. from Schenectady County Community College and a B.M. (with honors) from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, he ventured to NYC, winning the President's Award scholarship at Manhattan School of Music, where he obtained a master's degree in jazz performance.
For the past eight years, Mancini has left an indelible mark on the L.A. creative music scene, celebrated as the honoree at the 18th annual Los Angeles Jazz Vibes Summit. DRUM Magazine's Reader's Poll named him "Best Jazz Percussionist" on vibes. Mancini's extensive collaborations span from luminaries like Arturo Sandoval and Peter Erskine to emerging stars like Kamasi Washington and Ben Wendel. He's performed globally, from prestigious New York venues to international festivals in Tahiti, Australia, Scandinavia, and Canada.
An accomplished curator, Mancini has led jazz series, organized festivals, and been recognized for his educational contributions, teaching at institutions such as CSU Long Beach and CSU Northridge. His passion for education extends to arranging and producing jazz records, with a growing catalog of independent releases.
