Sayat Asatryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and trained in Russia at the Voronezh Ballet school and St. Petersburg Ballet Academy. He received a comprehensive arts and humanities education at these institutions, culminating in a master's degree in dance and arts. He received his Master of Ballet Pedagogics and Choreography degree with excellence from the famed Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. Moreover, he completed the Certified Performing Arts Executive program at the University of New Orleans, concentrating on the managerial facets of performing arts tour booking and presentation. With a career spanning over three decades, he has danced professionally across the globe, including the United States. Notably, he served as a principal ballet dancer with the Moscow Kremlin Ballet and as a guest artist with the Bolshoi Ballet, gracing international stages in South America, Europe, Japan, and the United States. Presently, Asatryan holds the positions of artistic director and choreographer at the Encinitas Ballet Academy and serves as a board advisor for Encinitas Friends of Arts. Mr. Asatryan has performed with Festival Ballet Theatre for the past 20 years.
